On the occasion of World Heart Day

Minister   of Health & Social Affairs of Ajara Nino Nizharadze and First Deputy Minister Mari Zanakidze met with cardiologists and cardio-surgeons of Bau International Hospital and the recovered patients who were financed within   the "Additional Medical Services of Heart Surgery" program of the Ministry of Health of Adjara.

 At the meeting, the head of the cardiac surgery department, cardiosurgeon Mahir Balakishiev gave a presentation on the results of the Ministry's program on the example of the clinic and talked about its importance.

Since 2016, 1520 open heart operations have been performed at the hospital. Emergency surgery was performed on 33% of patients, planned surgery on 67%.
